ACTION ITEM: REGISTRATION FOR 2022-2023 School Year 

Art In Motion Re-Enrollment is now open for the 2022-23 school year.  Re-Enrollment must be completed through the new account set up for you in AIM's new SchoolMint registration system.  Please read the attached instructions to state your student's Intent to Return and complete the Re-Enrollment process.

 

Also included in the letter is an exciting opportunity to be part of Art In Motion's group going to Common's concert @ Ravinia on Saturday, June 18!  All families who complete the re-enrollment process by June 8 will be entered into a raffle to receive two free tickets and free bus transportation.

Monday, June 13: Last Day of Q4/S2

Tuesday, June 14: Q4/S2 Report Cards Distributed

Wednesday, June 15: Last Day of School - 1PM Dismissal

  • Early dismissals will only be granted until 15 minutes before the end of the day. For safety and security purposes, staff prepare for dismissal.

  • The annual student fee of $80 can be paid online here.

  • Automated notifications are going out daily at 9:45AM for attendance. If students have not reported to school by 9:30AM a text and phone call will be sent out.

  • School starts at 8:10AM daily. That means in your seat and ready to go by 8:10AM. The warning bell rings at 8:05AM. If students do not make it through morning check in by this time, then they are late. If students are wandering the halls visiting with friends and do not make it to their assigned class by 8:10AM, then they are late. Please talk to your student to ensure that they are where they are supposed to be when they are supposed to be. Detentions are being assigned for excessive consecutive tardies.

  • Student Ventra: Cards must have Summer Student Fare entitlements registered to the Student Ventra cards. Please use this attached form. Fill it out and send it to ctastudents@ventrachicago.com for your student entitlement benefits to be added to the card. Without submitting this form to Ventra, your Student Ventra cards will be charged full fare. Please note that Charter Schools do not have Transit Account IDs

If your student has lost his/her Ventra card and needs a replacement, then please complete this form and send it with a $2 money order or check (personal or cashier are accepted) payable to Chicago Transit Authority to: Ventra Services Attn: Student Ventra PO Box 8291 Chicago, IL 60680.

  • No food deliveries are permitted for students unless a parent or guardian brings food for their own child for their lunch period and drops it off at the front office.

Arrival at Greenwood

  • Ms. Reyna is not available to tend to parents until after tardies and attendance is submitted, estimated time 9:45AM. Someone is available to answer the phone and help with general inquiries and take messages. Attendance messages can be left by calling 773-820-9426 option 1. You can also email aim@distinctiveschools.org and Ms. Reyna will get back to you as soon as possible upon the completion of her morning duties.

Chromebook Repairs/Replacement:

End of Year/Summer Tech Turn In: Student devices

All student devices will be turned in by the end of the school year. New devices will be assigned to students at the beginning of summer school. To help prepare for an accelerated launch of the 2022-2023 school year, we are planning for summer learning devices to remain on campus but can provide take-home service as identified by school leadership.

Class carts will be provided for the duration of Summer Learning.

  • All students are assigned a student Chromebook.

  • On campus, this is the only permissible tech allowed on campus.

  • Each student is responsible for their own tech.

  • If a repair is needed due to negligence, then the student’s account will be charged $25 per repair, $15 per charger replacement, and $250 per computer replacement. No services or replacements will occur until full payment is rendered.

Arts Update

  • Fall 2022 Artist Interviews!

    • EVERY returning and incoming 9th, 10th and 11th graders are required to turn in an artist interview video by July 1st or schedule an in person interview for the week of August 15th.  

    • This artist interview will determine their arts classes for next year!

    • Information was shared during arts classes this week and students have the opportunity to start preparing before the last day of school.

  • AIM ARTS GALLERY has been shifted to a virtual gallery to be released after school ends so that everyone can enjoy our students' Art!  Make sure to follow us on social media to see the magic!!
