Middle School Report Cards were sent home with students on Thursday April 7, 2022.

Remember, students and families have 24/7 real-time access to current grades and report cards through student and parent logins to Summit Learning and Synergy StudentVue/ParentVue. If you need any help accessing these platforms, please contact aim@distinctiveschools.org.

  • A student will earn one cumulative, competency-based grade in each course. (The final grade will be an accurate reflection of year-long student growth rather than an average of quarterly grades.)

  • The 3rd Quarter Report Card shows your student’s progress up to this point

At Distinctive Schools, we are committed to preparing our students for the next grade level, and we structure our continuum of supports to ensure responsiveness to the needs of all learners. To best prepare our students for the next grade, a student with a final grade of an Incomplete, D or F will be assigned to summer school in order for them to complete their current year’s learning. An Incomplete indicates:

  • They have missing projects or math units and/or

  • Their Project or Concept Unit score below 70%  and/or

  • Their Power Focus Area percentage does not increase their overall grade to 70>#/p###

Summer Learning Academy 2022 will be held in June and July to provide students time, space, and support to complete grade level expectations,  demonstrate mastery of key content, and be ready for the next grade level.

If your student’s Report Card indicates that your student has an Incomplete, there is time for your student to get on track without joining Summer Learning. Please take time to discuss the importance of completing Projects and Concept Units, and at least the minimum Power Focus Areas required in order to pass each course with a 70% or better.  Please refer to your student’s Academic Learn Plan for expectations. At school, your student will continue to receive significant support like weekly mentoring sessions and office hours  in order to raise his/her grades and to develop necessary grade-level competencies.
