World mental health day

Distinctive Schools Mental Health and Wellness Support

October 10th is World Mental Health Day! This day is dedicated to raising awareness of mental health issues and mobilizing support to improve the mental health of people around the world.

At Distinctive Schools, Mental Health and Wellness is one of the core priorities of our organization. We are committed to supporting the mental health of our Distinctive team, as well as our students, families and community.

Social-Emotional Learning (SEL):

All of our campuses have a comprehensive social-emotional learning program. We are committed to educating the whole child, SEL lessons help students identify their emotions and build communication skills. We are proud to partner with Move This World to bring daily SEL lessons into our classrooms.

Dedicated Student Support Team:

We have a wonderful team of School Social Workers ready to support students at every campus! School Social Workers are trained mental health professionals who work directly with students one on one and in small groups to assist with mental health concerns. “School social workers meet students in their toughest times and support them in connecting to their best selves; they provide students with the support to thrive in school and in their lives. We are so proud of who our clinicians are and the incredible work they do every day!” – Michele Lansing, LCSW, Network Director of Clinical Services for Distinctive Schools shared.
