Good Evening AIM Families!

Here are the latest updates from the main office.

Important Dates

  • March 6th- NO SCHOOL

  • March 7th- AIM Studios session 2 begins!(more details to come)

  • *REMINDER*Any students arriving after 10:00am must be escorted by a parent/guardian to avoid detention. Students arriving without an escort will automatically be given detention to serve the following school day. 

  • No early dismissals will be permitted after 3:00pm Mon,Tues,and Thurs. and 12:30pm on Weds. 

  • *REMINDER*All documents that have yet been turned in are now PAST DUE and must be submitted ASAP. Payment plans are no longer being offered and all payments made must be paid in full. Students will be excluded from all extracurricular activities until paid in full. AIM STUDIOS:

We are excited to share the launch of AIM STUDIO after-school programming! Please review this important information about program offerings, registration, and start dates. This next session will run from March 7th - May 30th, 2023,  with an AIM STUDIO Showcase taking place on June 1st. All studio programming is listed below for your viewing.

Process: 

  • Please review the program offerings to determine which is the best fit for your student. Once you have made a decision, 

  • Please fill out this registration link: 

  • Students will be placed in programs on a first come first serve basis. 

  • Registration will close at 8:00 am Monday, March 13, 2023. 

Logistics: Programming will take place on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursday afternoons from 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm.

Expectations: Once registration has been completed, students will receive an AIM STUDIO welcome letter/email. Because there are limited seats available for each program, please wait for Welcome confirmation, before making payment. Please be aware that students are expected to attend every STUDIO AIM session and families should plan to pick up their child promptly at 5:30 pm.  There will be a late fee for students who are picked up after 5:30. 

Associated Fees: There is a registration fee: 

  • Programming that is three days a week, the registration fee is $45.

  • Programming that is two days a week. The registration fee is $35. 

  • Programming that is once a week, the registration fee is $25.

Basketball- Registration Fee $45-( Mondays,Tuesdays & Thursdays)

Our mission is to create. Create a positive environment and healthy relationships through the game of basketball.

AIM Voice (Choir)- Registration Fee $35-( Tuesdays/Thursdays) 

Join AIM Voices, Art In Motion's very own Choir!  Perform at community events and our own Choir performances. We are looking for students who can be all in and ready to perform.  Let your voice SHINE!

Debate & Speech- Registration Fee $25 -( Tuesdays)

Art In Motion’s first-ever debate and speech club. We will engage with topics in the areas of politics, culture, and technology with the goal of stimulating intellectual growth, creative collaboration, and public speaking skills. Students will attend at least one local debate tournament in the Spring to showcase their learning and talents.

Chess Club- Registration Fee $25- Registration Fee $25 -( Tuesdays)

A continuation with AIM Chess, where we practice, develop, and master chess strategies for competitive, professional play and tournaments. Students will have the necessary skills to engage in competitions throughout Chicago while fostering a more profound love and respect for the game. Students will also grow as individuals, applying their chess-oriented life skills to their academics and daily living. 

Girl Talk- Registration Fee $25- Registration Fee $25 -( Tuesdays)

A space for girl-identifying students to discuss real-life issues such as health/hygiene, mental health, relationships, current life events, etc. 

AfroBallet - Registration Fee $25- Registration Fee $25 -( Tuesdays)

Students will be introduced to a number of cultures throughout the African Diaspora through the medium of traditional and/or interpretive dance and the artifact of costume, food, and language sampling. Students will sample African countries, "go inside traditional villages, explore the island nations of the West Indies, and find rich convergence of cultures in South America and Mexico."

National Arts Honors Society- Registration Fee $25 -( Thursdays)

A student-led organization with participants who are passing ALL classes (Arts and Academics) to provide community service/activism through the arts. We will investigate what artist activism looks like in the real world and in art institutional spaces. And how students can demonstrate CREATIVE values through service projects they design and implement.

Fashion Board- Registration Fee $35-( Tuesdays/Thursdays) 

The Fashion Club is a group that welcomes creative students in the 9-12th grade who are interested in careers related to the field of fashion. The club will further aim to create an inviting atmosphere to encourage and promote self-expression.  The final goal is to put on a fashion show for the community.  Students will also have an opportunity to be introduced to modeling in the Chicago area.

Cash Flow-Game Play - Registration Fee $35-( Mondays/Thursdays) 

The purpose of this program is to educate students about basic financial wealth building through gameplay and personal goals. The focus is heavily on real estate, entrepreneurship, and risk/reward assessment. By the end of this program, students will have a basic knowledge of how basic real estate works, money management skills, determine personal goals in wealth building, and SEL skills in communication, negotiating & presenting.

Beads of Change - Registration Fee $35-( Tuesdays/Thursdays) 

This class will work with seed beads ONLY. We will talk about the different cultural backgrounds and art techniques that incorporate seed beading. We will create individual and unique pieces of art using looms, cloth, wire, and string.

Volleyball - Registration Fee $35-( Tuesdays/Thursdays) 

This is an intramural volleyball team with “in-house” competitions. You will be practicing proper form and procedure for Volleyball and how to play in an inclusive team environment.

The Amazing Super Club -Registration Fee $25- ( Thursdays)

Everything of and related to Superheroes, Comics, and Anime! Watch! Create! Make! 

AIM Young Inventors -Registration Fee $35- (Tuesdays/Thursdays)

This program will inspire students to learn about STEM concepts and their connection to community economic prosperity. Lead students in building models, 3-D prototype designs, and learn how to patent their inventions. Students will go see the Chicago Inventors competition this spring and compete in AIM’s version at the end of the session. 

Studio Workshop 100 -Registration Fee $35 (Tuesdays)

In Studio Workshop 100 students will write, record, and mix a song that they can proudly share and enjoy listening to. In each session, students will freestyle/improvise themes, brainstorm song ideas, produce beats, record vocals and music, and mix and engineer songs. 


8th Grade Graduation:

  • Graduation will be on June 5th, 2023 at 5:30 pm. 

  • ALL graduation activities costs will be covered in the Graduation fee of $180.00. Payments can be made in two installments of $90.00, three installments of $60.00, or in full. 

    • The graduation fee is separate from school fees that were due at the beginning of the school year. 

    • Graduation fees cover the student’s; cap, gown, diploma, graduation, ceremony, luncheon, and field day festivities. 

  • Payments can be made online, before or after school with Ms. Hudson or Assistant Principal Brown (cash or money order). If you are paying online the links are:

    • Feb 1st

    • March 15th  

    • May 1st 

  • Graduation Picture day is March 16th. 

    • There is a $10 nonrefundable fee that can be paid online. Packages and paylink will be sent via email from Ms. Hudson.
