Quarter 1 Report Cards
Mrs. May and Ms. Rychel wanted to find a more informal way of sharing monthly updates and important information from campus. View this "Backstage at AIM" discussion to be informed on the Q2 schedule, report cards and parent teacher conferences!
Please visit our school website for KEY STUDENT LINKS! ALL student resources there for you to easily navigate key links, including information on the new daily schedule times.
Community Class: Students are expected to be in class, on time, every day, all day. We are seeing a trend of absences occurring during Community, the beginning and end of the day. This class is just as important as any other class. Through Community is how students receive special announcements, especially about schedule changes, testing, mentoring, etc. With our shortened school day, there will not be much wiggle room for missing class minutes before the daily attendance is affected. Please be sure that your artist is attending all classes every day. Reach out via email if you have any questions or concerns, email@example.com.
Tech Tickets: Please make sure to open tech tickets with I.T. if you are experiencing technology issues using this link
The main office number is 773-820-9426, and is answered between 8am-4pm Monday-Friday.
Absences: When your artist is going to be absent please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Automatic attendance messages from Synergy will go to your email on file when your student is not present or on time for a class.
Medical forms, physicals, and FIFF forms: AKA lunch applications (all students) are now PAST DUE. Please mail, send via Remind, or email documents to email@example.com.
8th Grade Families Only: Please contact GoCPS at 773.553.2060 if you are interested in scheduling Selective Enrollment testing.
Virtual Open House: AIM will be hosting a Virtual Open House for prospective students and families interested in enrolling for the 2021.2022 school year on Tuesday, November 17th, 2020. 5:00PM. Zoom Link will be available closer to November 17, 2020.
School Fees: The 2020-2021 Student Remote Learning Fee is due to the office by November 15, 2020. The Remote Learning fee covers costs of supplies and technology. If you need a payment plan, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. We will work with all families who need support. Payment can be made online using this link or dropped off in the main office.
Effective Monday, November 2nd, we will begin Quarter 2. There have been a few changes in the schedule that will help students be more successful as we continue Remote learning. One new component embedded in the new schedule is Independent Work time between the hours of 2:15-3:45. This change allows students to work at their own pace; reflect on their coursework, and give them time to catch up on missing assignments. Parents, here's where we need your help. Please talk with your son or daughter to help them understand the importance of independent work time. It is an opportunity for students to take ownership of their learning experiences and grow into self-directed learners. Parents, partner with your child's teachers, and help monitor students' progress by holding them accountable to take advantage of this learning opportunity.
Remember, all families have access to Summit and Synergy to monitor student progress daily. Summit Courses can be accessed by logging into the Summit Platform. Parents should log into Synergy for Art, Spanish, and W.I.N courses. Please contact your child's teachers with any questions. We look forward to meeting with you during Family Conferences and celebrating your child's successes and working together to create goals for a successful Quarter 2.
Student Supports for Academics and Attendance: Our Deans have started reaching out to families and calling home to find out what supports your students if they struggled to stay on track with their school attendance and work completion. Please answer calls, emails, and/or texts if you our team reaches out to support your student’s success.
November Wellness Calendar: University of California's Greater Good program puts out a calendar with things you and your student can do for your social-emotional health during these challenging times. Check it out and do some of the activities with your student!
Online and Mobile Safety: Our devices and the internet provide a number of benefits and conveniences for us and our children. Make sure that your student is using these tools safely. Make sure you and they are aware of online bullying, sexting (illicit texts), pornography, and identity theft. More to come from SST to help guide families and students.
School Store: Ready to launch this Quarter! Look out for the new video on how to earn "additions".
Assemblies and Special Events: With the new schedule will come opportunities to recognize students and gather together as a whole school. Details to come.
Arts Collective: Showcase your work, explore new opportunities, and take your skills to the next level through AIM's Arts Collective. Coming soon...
