Fall Break- NO SCHOOL: October 9 -12, 2020 
All Forms Due to Office: October 13, 2020

On Monday October 5th we will be popping into zoom rooms each period  to announce winners of our attendance challenge! You must be PRESENT in class on October 5th to WIN!!!! 
Raffle drawings will be throughout the day on Monday, October 5th and winners will be announced each period. We will draw 20 different winners for various $25 gift cards. (Target, Starbucks, Amazon, etc.)

  • Tech Tickets: Please make sure to open tech tickets with help desk team. if you are experiencing technology or login issues. Here is the link to open a ticket.
  • School Phone Number: The main office number is 773-820-9426, and we are available by phone from 8am-4pm.
  • Student Absence: When your student is going to be absent from class please email aim@distinctiveschools.org 
  • FORMS DUE: Medical forms (all students), physicals (new and all 9th grade students), and FIF forms AKA lunch applications (all students) are due  by October 13, 2020. Please mail, drop off at school, or email documents to aim@distinctiveschools.org

  • UPDATE ON REMIND COMMUNICATIONS: Our campus is in the process of transitioning all class rosters and scheduled classes in the Remind System so that each period and class has a Remind Group. Please excuse any issues while we update and improve this tool.

FRESHMAN ACADEMY

All 9th grade students are invited to register for  the Common Ground Foundation after-school, high school mentorship program.  Student will meet with mentors in a virtual setting every Tuesday from 4:00pm - 5:00pm.

​We are looking forward to connecting with families next week for our Family Curriculum Night.  We will share information about the programs we implement to meet the needs of our students. We will host our Middle School families Tuesday, October 6th @ 5:00 PM and our High School families Wednesday, October 7th @ 5:00 PM.

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is Social and emotional learning (SEL) is the process through which children and adults understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.

​On October 7, we will be using a tool called SELweb to show your student's progress in these areas of growth. Watch this video and review this document for more information on SELweb and how to help your child take the survey from home. ​
​Our SEL curriculum, Move this World, will be used with SELweb to provide interventions that will help all of our students learn those essential skills. If you or your student wants to practice the breathing exercises from our SEL curriculum Move this World or review some of the SEL lessons, you can use our AIM Family Account to login! Username: artinmotion.family  Password: distinctive

CREATIVE: October will be the month of "Community" at AIM.  Students will have special discussions and activities throughout the month that focus on the importance of building community.  Try to reinforce these concepts at home and look out for special CREATIVE notes from the school.​​

Incentives and Challenges will be launching encourage students to do their best during virtual learning including a goal setting challenge in Summit and a CREATIVE challenge as we work to grow in our core values as a community.
